A New Project, A New Love.

It's no secret that I am absolutely obsessed with linen, and equally in love with kiss clutches.  So, why not create a linen kiss clutch?!  Linen wrinkles easily, but that's part of what I love about it.  It's perfectly imperfect.

The metal frames were an inspiring gift from my dad.

I cut the lace from a shirt that I accidently shrunk.  Sooo...now I'm on a hunt to buy more!

The interior fabric is a gorgeous bright paisley that I found in my mom's fabric collection and I've been hoarding for years...just waiting for the perfect project.

I adore this bag and can't wait to create more and add them to my shop!

If you're looking to create your own metal frame purse, this tutorial was incredible.  Easy to follow and customize.

Color Wheel!

I can't tell you how often I am shopping and absolutely love a certain style, but wish I could find it in another color.  So although you may not have 26 color choices at the mall, you do have them in my Northern Roots shop!  Choose from this vibrant collection available for any style you like!  Match your wedding colors, choose your favorite color, or try something completely new!  Just leave your color choice in the "note to seller" section during checkout.

DIY Spring Birthday Party

We just celebrated our daughters' second birthday!  I can't believe she's already 2!  I've been looking online for months to find the perfect theme.  We finally decided on a spring/garden theme.  I wanted it to be simple, fun, and bright...and of course handmade!

.FRESH FLOWERS.

We started with fresh flowers everywhere!!  We went to Sams Club, and chose bright green pom poms, coral tulips, and daisy's (ranging from $3.49- $9.99/bouquet).  I didn't have enough vases, so we used our tall juice glasses that have aqua flowers printed on them.
These little beauties lasted all week, so after the party, we put them all over the house!  Everyone loves waking up to fresh flowers!

.BANNER.

I've seen these adorable banners all over etsy and absolutely love them!  I went to the scrapbooking section, picked out some bright and happy papers and created this!  After the party, it will be perfect for her bedroom or playroom (I haven't quite decided).

.POM POMS.

I love love love flower pom poms!!!  I am constantly admiring the beautiful creations in the PomLove etsy shop.  One of my closest friends and I had a play date with the kiddoes while we made some of our own pom poms!  We used the LollyChops tutorial (which is amazing!!) and hung these happy little poofs all over the house!

It's been a week since the party, and I just can't bring myself to take these down...they make me so happy!!

.CUPCAKES.

Last, but not least, we decided on cupcakes instead of a traditional birthday cake.  Best decision ever!  They were easy to make, looked adorable, and I didn't have to mess with the serving part.  Everyone just grabbed a cupcake!

My amazing friend Julie made a three tiered stand using wrapping paper and empty boxes!  Another wonderful and crafty friend, Amanda, used her cricut to make our cupcake toppers!

We also had watermelon slices, fresh strawberries and "dirt" (oreo cookie pudding) with gummy worms served in a sand bucket and served with a shovel!

I hope you found this helpful in planning your next party!!  Good luck!!

The Perfect Gifts for Your Bridemaids!

You spend days, months, sometimes even years preparing for your wedding day.  You want everything to be perfect, unique, and memorable.  "Ooh's" and "Ahh's" from the guests over your dress, the venue, the cake.  You also want "ooh's" and "ahh's" from your bridesmaids as they open their gifts.  What better way to get them, than with a hand molded pair of earrings, rings or bobby pins, custom made to match your wedding day colors!

The bridal party shown at the top of this post are wearing a custom order of pale yellow ruffled rose earrings with pearl centers.  What a gorgeous group of girls!!!  A special thanks to the beautiful bride for sharing her pictures so I could see my work on display!!
